The Complete SIC Code Reference

This spreadsheet reference contains all SIC Codes from the last update by the US Govt. (Office of Management and Budget). Although SIC Codes are officially the "older outdated way" of identifying businesses, they are still very popular and widely used. Most business databases have their data bridged between SIC and the newer NAICS, so you can use either.

The Complete NAICS Code Reference (Pronounced "Nakes")

This spreadsheet reference contains all NAICS codes as updated by the OMB in 2002. In 2002, the NAICS system replaced the older SIC system. However, the SIC system is still in widespread use today.

The question that is most often asked is, "Which reference should we use?" Well, it depends on your particular industry. You should review both to see which one provides you with the most explicit detail about your target audience. The good news is that we have both SIC and NAICS codes appended to our data.

Note: If you need a cross reference between the SIC and NAICS, the US Census Bureau has an excellent reference site that shows the two side by side. Here is the link to the specific section of their site.
